Help Shape Mental Health and Wellbeing Support in South Powys
What support do people really need in south Powys? What barriers stop people accessing help? What would improve wellbeing in our communities?
At South Powys Mind, we want to hear directly from local people through our new Community Survey 2026.
The survey has been created to help us better understand the mental health and wellbeing needs of people across South Powys. The information shared will help shape future support services, influence local priorities and support future funding applications so that services can better reflect the needs of our communities.
We know that everyone’s experiences are different. Some people may have struggled with anxiety, stress, loneliness or bereavement. Others may have found it difficult to access support because of transport, waiting lists, cost, stigma, or simply not knowing what is available.
That’s why every response matters.
The survey asks about:
- Mental health and emotional wellbeing
- Barriers to accessing support
- What services are working well
- What support people feel is missing
- Ideas for improving wellbeing locally
- Types of activities or support people would like to see in the future
We’re particularly keen to hear from people across all areas of South Powys, including Brecon, Hay-on-Wye, Talgarth, Crickhowell, Ystradgynlais, Sennybridge and surrounding communities.
Your responses are anonymous
All responses are confidential and anonymous. We will not collect personal identifying information unless you choose to provide it yourself.
Taking part is completely voluntary and you can skip any questions you do not wish to answer.
Why your voice matters
By sharing your experiences and ideas, you can help us:
